Brian Chamberlin joined the National Office in August 2014 as a Senior Bookkeeper.

Brian, please tell us a little about yourself.
Pittsburgh born, Florida raised, youngest of three and uncle to six. I moved to New York City with my fiancé, Charlie, almost seven years ago and love it here. I love animals. I’m extremely close with my family and usually spend one weekend per month in Florida with them.

How would you describe your experience at the National Office and what is your favorite part of working here?
I’ve been at the Society for a little over a year and absolutely love it here. My coworkers are not only a fun bunch, but are bright, motivated and hard working.

What are you like outside of work?
I like spending time with friends, whether it’s going to the beach, having a BBQ, catching a concert, a game or hanging out at home. I’ve made some of my very best friends while seeing bands all over the U.S. and travel to meet up with them for shows a few times each year.
What song do you put on when you need to focus or get in the zone and why?
70’s music. Any kind. I grew up listening to it with my parents and in addition to calming me, it brings back a lot of good memories. Classic rock, soft rock, pop, disco—I love it all.
If you were an animal, what kind would you be and why?
A cat, because I know how spoiled mine are!
Brian’s youngest cat, “Lucy”, likes to jump on your shoulder when you’re least expecting it.
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A lawyer. I still haven’t ruled it out completely!
If you could get on a plane tomorrow and travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
Australia. It’s a big trip from the U.S. and somewhere I’ve always wanted to go.
What is your all-time favorite quote?
It’s a line from a Tom Petty song called “Crawling Back to You”: “Most things I worry about never happen anyway.” It seems so overly simple now that I write it down, but I truly believe we often find ourselves worrying about things that will never happen.
What is something no one knows about you?
Between good friends and family, I’m fairly certain that collectively, someone knows all of the things.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
Teleportation, hands down! World travel without the time, expense and hassle!

Brian, it was great speaking with you today and we’re happy to have you on our team.
Thank you for sharing!
