Erin, tell us a little about yourself.

I was born in Brooklyn and raised in New Jersey. My mom will be very upset at me for saying this, but I am a Jersey Girl! I am extremely family oriented, and my world basically revolves around my family and my girlfriends. I love doing anything that involves being with my parents, sister and cousins. I am also very excited to be an aunt in a few short months!

Aside from spending time with family and friends, I have always been a very active person. I am involved in many different activities, ranging from sports to arts and everything in between. Everyone, including myself, likes to joke that I am a gypsy because I am always on the go and rarely stay in one place for too long.

You recently had a major life accomplishment by completing your SNT goal of finishing your first triathlon. Can you tell us more about this and the road to completion?

My mom is really the inspiration behind my SNT goal. Growing up, she always accomplished something on her milestone birthdays. For her most recent milestone (I will not reveal which one), she stated that she wanted to do a triathlon. She has completed one before, but I thought this would be exciting for me to do as well. I set my goal with my SNT group at the National Office and never followed through on my actions. It had been bothering me that I didn’t complete a goal that I set for myself, so I signed up for a triathlon and started training. I began running a few months ago and let my group know that I was going to do this. My co-workers, friends, family and training partner have been very supportive in my quest to cross the finish line.

How would you describe the feeling after crossing the finish line and what is in store for you next?

I was beyond thrilled and excited to cross the finish line! My mom was injured and was unable to compete in the triathlon with me, but she was waiting for me at the finish line which made it exciting. I could not wait to come into work on Monday morning and tell my SNT group that I completed my goal. Apparently I have been bit by the running bug, and I am looking to do another triathlon this summer. My next goal will be to complete a half marathon in September, which I’ve already started training for.

What are you like outside of work?

Outside of work I am extremely active. Running and working out has become a passion of mine and is typically what I like to do after work. If I am not doing that, I can be found doing anything outside. I love being out in my backyard, at the beach with my girlfriends or going to a sporting event. I am a big country music fan (even before country became cool), so I love listening to country music or going to concerts. I am so excited that Garth Brooks came out of retirement--that was probably one of the best days of my life.

I do enjoy watching Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Vikings, The Big Bang Theory or anything on HGTV and The Food Network. I am a huge sports fan and love watching and attending games. My teams are the New York Giants, New York Yankees, New Jersey Devils, Brooklyn Nets, and I have a love for all soccer teams in the New York area. But before any of those teams, I am a diehard fan of Rutgers University. Go Knights!

What song do you put on when you need to focus or get in the zone and why?

Great question. I have many songs depending on the situation. I guess the song that is my go-to would be “Perfect Day” by Cascada. It is a very upbeat song and reminds me of my group of girlfriends from college. I have a lot of great memories associated with it and it always puts me in great mood.

Backstreet Boys or NSYNC?

I never got into the boy band craze, but if I have to pick I would say neither: 98 Degrees.

If you were an animal, what kind would you be and why?

I would want to be a monkey; they get to play in trees all day and swing around.

When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Growing up I wanted to be a brain surgeon. I used to watch surgeries on TV with my dad and I have always been intrigued by it.

If you could get on a plane tomorrow and travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

I would want to go everywhere! There are too many places to list. My next trip is going to be Australia and New Zealand. I love adventure and want to explore.

What is your all-time favorite quote?

I have two. The first is, “Refuse to be unhappy, nobody can make you unhappy, only you can.” That is by my eighth grade history teacher, Mr. Kevin Amey. It has always stuck with me.

The second is, “Forget regret or life is yours to miss,” from Rent.

If your life could be based on a movie or TV show, what show would it be and why?

Tough question, but I am going to go old school and say Salute Your Shorts. I would love to be at camp with all of my friends, doing activities and playing around.

What is something no one knows about you?

Growing up I was a tomboy and would never wear dresses. Now I have a shopping addiction when it comes to dresses.

What is your karaoke song?

“Hold On” by Wilson Phillips

Erin, it was great speaking with you today, and we’re happy to share your story with our members.

Thank you for sharing and congrats on achieving your SNT goal!
