Did you succeed in achieving your action steps since the last meeting? If yes, please state which action steps you were able to complete. If no, please explain the challenges that you experienced. (If first meeting, write ‘first meeting’ here.):
I have completed most of my action steps towards my goal of revising my resume and updating my LinkedIn profile. I have gone over my resume and have almost completely reworked it. I still have some minor changes that need to be made. I have not added it to my Linked In profile yet because it is not done. I have added most of my courses relevant to my job field on my LinkedIn profile. As for my first goal of reaching a 3.50 GPA or higher, I should be very close. I have all A's right now!
Please state your goal using the SMART Method: Specific: Avoid generalities! Your goal should have specific details so you know what you are achieving. Measurable: Make sure you have solid criteria for establishing your progress toward your goal. Actionable: You can clearly define action steps towards your goal Rewarding: Your goal must be something that is meaningful and worthwhile. Time Specific: Having specific dates for beginning and finishing goals keeps you on track. Example: “My goal is to receive a Sports Internship by May 1st”:
I plan finish updating my resume this week so I can add it to my profile. My new goal for these next few weeks is to be able to volunteer at my local food bank and soup kitchen at least once a week.
Please list the action steps you will take to achieve your goals stated above. These are action steps that will be completed by next meeting. Example: “1. Finish my resume. 2. Talk with my advisor. 3. Submit a sports internship application at two institutions.”:
1. Go over resume and make sure there are no errors. 2. Add it to my LinkedIn profile. 3. Go over my weekly schedule to verify which day works best to volunteer. 4. Set aside 2 hours that one day a week to be able to volunteer.
How have the NSLS speakers or SNT meetings helped you achieve your goals or changed your life?:
Our third meeting went really well. Everyone is on track to achieve their goals. Most have already met their goals. One member is set to graduate next month with her BS in Accounting and has a 4.0 GPA! She is a mother of three and works full time. I am so proud of her and all she has accomplished with her super busy life. I admire her strength and determination. We started a chat and every day we motivate each other with a daily devotion. We then talk about how we have helped lead others during our week. One member has initiated emergency donations in Oklahoma and volunteers at a veteran's hospital. That's what prompted me to want to volunteer at our local shelter. We all have busy lives, but there's always time to help those in need no matter what.
