I have succeeded in achieving the action steps since the last SNT submission.
I was able to update my resume, with things like being elected SGA President.
I received my headshots back and I updated my resume with those and my LinkedIn.
I was in communication with the chair of the department of Criminal Justice and I now have the great opportunity to apply to the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Service Volunteer Program.

My goal is to obtain an internship or a volunteer opportunity in the Criminal Justice/ Forensic Field for the Summer 2024. This goal will allow me to prepare myself for the workforce as I am a rising Senior. The internship/volunteer opportunity will provide me with the right skills to mentor/help my peers and to prepare me for future opportunities when I start working. The internship/ volunteer opportunity must happen between June-August 2024.

The steps I must take from now on is to finish updating my resume with a couple of programs that I have applied that I am waiting to hear back from and see if I will be accepted and add them to my resume.
I will also collect the packet to apply for the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Service Volunteer Program.
Then I will collect two letters of recommendation and request for my unofficial transcript.
I will start drafting my personal statement.
How have the NSLS speakers or SNT meetings helped you achieve your goals or changed your life?:
The NSLS Speakers have showed me that taking a break is fine.
Hearing them repeatedly talk about mental health and how they had to constantly remind themselves of that was powerful.
I am a mental health advocate and although I understand that taking a break and listening to my body is important, sometimes there is just so much to do that I tend to forget it.
Thanks to their advice I know have schedule a meeting with the counseling center and I will start taking sometimes to speak with a professional about my mental health.
