Did you succeed in achieving your action steps since the last meeting? If yes, please state which action steps you were able to complete. If no, please explain the challenges that you experienced. (If first meeting, write ‘first meeting’ here.):
Yes. I added sleep into my habit tracker and used my meditation app to help me sleep. I'm still having trouble staying accountable with my schedule and making exceptions in favor of others and due to a lack of planning in some cases.
Please state your goal using the SMART Method: Specific: Avoid generalities! Your goal should have specific details so you know what you are achieving. Measurable: Make sure you have solid criteria for establishing your progress toward your goal. Actionable: You can clearly define action steps towards your goal Rewarding: Your goal must be something that is meaningful and worthwhile. Time Specific: Having specific dates for beginning and finishing goals keeps you on track. Example: “My goal is to receive a Sports Internship by May 1st”:
I will use my journal to prepare for the next day (at least 15 minutes) and consider sleep hygiene and other personal tasks in my planning. I will schedule nonnegotiable weekly check-ins to evaluate my success. (All this so I can get some sleep!)
Please list the action steps you will take to achieve your goals stated above. These are action steps that will be completed by next meeting. Example: “1. Finish my resume. 2. Talk with my advisor. 3. Submit a sports internship application at two institutions.”:
1. Schedule daily planning time in my bullet journal (be specific and thoughtful because this shouldn't change) 2. I will lay out my clothes the night before and set up my home for success in the AM (every night)
How have the NSLS speakers or SNT meetings helped you achieve your goals or changed your life?:
I listened to Arnold Schwarzenegger and heard some similar notes that I've heard from other successful people. Having a specific, clear goal in mind and allowing that to dictate decisions is something I need to apply in my life. I have life-changing goals that will not be easy to achieve and I need to use them to guide me toward future success. His insights about his various phases in his life was also a reminder that I shouldn't hold myself back!
