1. What were the main points of this speaker's presentation?

The main points of Anderson cooper’s speech are that we should not live in fear to go out and explore the world and try new things. Even if after we graduate college we are unsure of what to do we can’t let it paralyze us and not allow us to live our lives. Anderson’s degree didn’t really help him but his drive to want to be in news sparked something in him and as he started off as a fact checker he didn’t let that hold him back from taking his career in his own hands to start reporting and I think he is trying to tell us to take chances in life and find something that drives us.

2. How will you apply this information in your life?

When I graduate I will not be discouraged nor give up if a job doesn’t fall in my hands immediately. I need to make things happen and not sit around waiting for things to happen. We live in a great world and it would be beneficial to get out of my comfort zone.

3. What did you find most interesting about this speaker?

How personal he gets with his stories, I didn’t realize the things he had been through to get where he is today.. with facing his brothers suicide and the things he saw overseas really helped me to realize that we all can get through anything.

4. If you could talk to the speaker, what would you say/ask?

I would say “you are very inspirational and I am so glad that you survived the tough times because you’re walking proof that each day is new and we can’t let fear stop us”

5. Would you recommend this speaker to other students? Why or why not?

Yes, he is a great speaker and I think his personal stories and experiences can really help us to grow and see a different perspective of the world.
