1. What were the main points of this speaker's presentation?

The main points of Anderson Cooper presentation were when he mentions that when you are reporting stories you have to see things with fresh and soft eyes and willing to be able to walk in other people’s shoes. Therefore, he believes that these are the qualities that serve the leaders of college campuses and the people who help college students. Mr. Cooper also believes that no matter what politics are in place, it is very easy for students to see the world they are entering today worse than before, for the fact that the world today is more polarized and difficult. He states that we live in a very polarized society and that nowadays it’s very easy for people especially young people to feel overwhelmed. Mr. Cooper says that what really gives him hope besides the advancements is the power that each student and person has, which is to reach out and to care for someone else and that it is something that all students do in their day to day lives and work on college campuses and the power and ability that students have to walk in other people’s shoes. He says that individuals make a difference and that everyone can make a difference. Mr. Cooper also mentions that the individuals who stand up and don’t wait to be told what to do are the ones who become leaders and take responsibility. In addition, he says that many college students who are about to graduate are facing their future with trepidation and he hopes that this fear does not paralyze students just like it happened to him when he was going to graduate college. According to Mr. Cooper, a good thing is that life for humans in this plant is better than it has ever been and it is better than any previous generation in the history of the planet, even though there are bad things and wars overseas that we see today happening and the polarized society that we may notice. He mentions that his father said years ago “we are all of us separately and together engage in the same tough journey”, which I believe is an important point that he states. Another important point Mr. Cooper makes is when he said that we must whenever possible reach out to each other tentatively to touch with our hands with our eyes and with our hearts. He believes that this is what every student does on their college campuses every day and that will do as future leaders.
