2017 Texas Trash Off
There is a truly magical element present when our Society chapters join forces to do good for the community.
A collaborative effort between the Society chapters at Texas A&M – Corpus Christi and Texas A&M- Central Texas, made quite an impact toward the Keep America Beautiful initiative during the 2017 Texas Trash Off event. They are truly keeping Texas beautiful!
Texas A&M – Corpus Christi hosted the event collecting a total of ten bags of trash as well as 50 trees. The trees were an invasive species from RedHead Pond and volunteers helped tear them down and move them close to the road for transportation. A trail will be made around the pond where the trees were removed.
The Texas A&M – Central Texas Society chapter hosted their Trash Off event collecting a total of 19 bags of trash totaling approximately 200 pounds. They were awarded with a certificate of appreciation from the city of Killeen. They collected the majority of the trash from their Adopted Park, Phyllis Park.
Coming together to support a community event is truly wonderful! Congratulations to the members of both our Society chapters who volunteered their time in an effort to Keep America and the great state of Texas Beautiful!
